Forefront of Crime
Reduction
In the world of digital security advancement, CCTV is now fast
becoming the forefront in crime reduction and acts as a strong
visual deterrent when installed and maintained to a specific
level that reproduces high quality recorded still pictures and
digital video footage. These can be highly effective in the
identification and conviction of criminals.
When installing systems, you need to
ensure that the monitoring service you choose is capable of fulfilling
these requirements. You need to put your trust in the highest quality
service to prevent damage and minimise loss to your client’s
property. Securi-Guard is at the cutting edge of this technology
and strives to stay ahead of the competition.
We do this in three ways;
Firstly, to protect you from the outset, we only accept systems
that are installed to the latest NSI standards and that have been registered
with the Data Protection Commission in accordance with the Data Protection
Act for CCTV systems 1998. This ensures that any data collected can
be used accordingly, in conjunction with law enforcement? agencies,
and ultimately used successfully in a Court of Law for prosecution
purposes.
Secondly, we upgrade our systems in keeping with relevant legislation
and customer needs, therefore ensuring our own standards are always front
line and as such you get the best cover expected. As an example of this
we have recently installed a brand new CCTV suite forming our new Remote
Video Recording Centre within our ARC and thus complies with BS 5979
standards. We have strived to work with the best forms of CCTV software
and through years of experience have narrowed these to only using what
we consider to be effective CCTV software tools which give results when
needed.
Thirdly, our ‘in-house’ trainers
ensure, through continuous ongoing training, that any changes in technology
and/or legislation are communicated to our CCTV Operators. As an NSI
Gold ARC, and members of the BSIA, we react in advance to any change
in these areas well before they are officially implemented. As
part of this training, our Operators are currently undertaking the
latest SITO course for Public Space and Surveillance activities.

As part of our service we conduct and record a free
weekly ‘fit for purpose’ inspection of the system monitored.
If a fault is identified with the system a report is forwarded onto the
installer to ensure remedial action is taken. All the activations received,
and any events that may be viewed are also forwarded to the installer
on a daily basis. This ensures you advised of any potential problems
found and also provides you with a full audit trail should you require
it.
These reports can also be viewed on line using our ‘GuardNet’ system. Our
Operators keep you, your client’s representatives and the Emergency
Services (where applicable) informed of any incident taking place, 24
hours a day, 365 days of the year. All recorded information of actual
events is maintained on our database for six months.
ISDN and ADSL
Lastly, CCTV has come along way from VCR videotape systems, which had
slow refresh rates and took quite a while to be received over slow
analogue communication lines. As previously mentioned, we keep our
systems front line. You therefore benefit from the fact that
we use communication systems using ISDN 64bit, ISDN 128bit and now
ADSL (Broadband) lines. The benefit of these is that they provide
a fast transmission rate of your CCTV activations and allow our Operators
to start checking the relative premises when it is needed in all
but real time status. All these forms of transmission allow ‘Audio
Warning’ communications to be transmitted to the premises if
the CCTV system fitted has the facility. Two-Way Audio is another
tool that some clients find is very useful in controlling access
to their premises.
In Summary, CCTV has a number of various advantages
from being a visual deterrent, an instant verification tool to your Intruder
and Fire Alarm systems, Access Control systems and a valuable health
and safety tool for your premises. Securi-Guard is always striving to
maintain and increase standards for our customers. We are even currently
actively seeking the coveted BS 8418 CCTV standard in keeping with customer
requirements. We are looking forward to announcing this achievement in
the very near future. In conjunction with our Secure Operating Centre
for vehicle monitoring, we are even looking at GSM systems where CCTV
could be installed into vehicle cabs to monitor high value loads and
driver safety over mobile communications. Our advancement in CCTV monitoring
never ceases. Give us a call for further information should you require
it. We only provide the best. |
