Securi-Guard Fire and Security has recruited two new apprentices as part of its ongoing commitment to training the next generation of industry professionals.
Eliot New, aged 21, and 17-year-old Joe Trigger, both from Plymouth, have joined the security systems division at Securi-Guard – the South West’s largest independent fire and security specialist.
Both Eliot and Joe will train as multi-discipline installers, while working towards an NVQ in Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician (Level 3) over the next three years. The pair are pictured with Liam Hewins, aged 22, who has successfully completed his apprenticeship with the company.
Paul Lawson, Project Manager at Securi-Guard, said: “Our apprenticeship training programme is a wonderful opportunity to learn from our skilled and knowledgeable team of engineers and I look forward to both Eliot and Joe establishing themselves within the company.”
Eliot and Joe will work alongside the company’s experienced engineers, learning a whole range of installation, maintenance and repair skills of both fire and security systems, as well as the importance of health and safety regulations.
They will also be supported during their apprenticeship period by the Focus Training Group, based at Plympton, an established, quality training provider helping people to improve their skills, qualifications and future career prospects.
Scott Boyd, Managing Director – Securi-Guard Fire and Security, said he was looking forward to helping Eliot and Joe take the first steps to what he hopes will be a long and successful career.
“As a family business, we know the importance of nurturing new talent,” said Scott.
“In common with other sectors, it is also essential that we attract new blood to the industry to guard against skills shortages in the future.”
