Recruitment
Securi-Guard is an Equal Opportunities employer and recruits its employees in accordance with BS 7499:2002 and NSI (NACOSS) Regulations.

The Human Resource Department source and recruit prospective staff, who must pass the interview board and four day training course before employment is confirmed. All personnel are subject to a sixteen-week probationary period.

Vetting
Our dedicated Vetting Department vets personnel to BS 7858:2004. At certain locations employees may be required to have an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check carried out on them.

Training
We ensure that all of our employees are trained to the highest standard in their specific roles within the organisation.

Our in-house Skills for Security Accredited and NOCN qualified trainers deliver training to all personnel at our own Training Centre. This Training Centre is also recognised by the City and Guilds as an Approved Assessment Centre for NVQ qualifications.

Manned Guarding – The Security Industry Authority
Due to the introduction of Licensing under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, the requirement for all Manned Guarding personnel to be trained to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) criteria has brought in the requirement to train all Security Officers to the NOCN Level Two Award in Security Guarding (static and patrol) qualification which will enable employees to apply for a licence.

We carry out the following courses that meet with the SIA ‘Core Competency Requirements’.

Unit 1 – Roles & Responsibilities of a Security Officer (3 day course)
Unit 2 – Communication & Conflict Management (1 day)

Each unit is assessed by way of an exam.

Security Systems
Securi-Guard provides on-going product training for all Security System Engineers and actively works with local education authorities to provide placements for apprentices who attend college under a day release program. As training progresses the apprentices become active members of the engineering team and once fully qualified to industry standards have the opportunity to take up full engineering status with the company.

Alarm Receiving Centre
Employees within our Alarm Receiving Centre carry out internal training on all aspects of the different roles carried out within the ARC e.g.: CCTV, Monitoring, Alarm 'Handling', Vechicle Tracking etc. The requirement for CCTV Operators to obtain a SIA Licence has come in but varies dependant on usage of CCTV.

National Vocational Qualifications
Securi-Guard is an Approved Assessment Centre for National Vocational Security Guarding Level 2. We have received the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for our continued commitment to ensuring our personnel gain the Vocational Qualification.

In addition to internal training to our own staff, our Trainers are available to carry out external training courses to individuals and companies.
