Health and Safety at Work Act
Employers have responsibilities for the health, safety and welfare at work of their employees and the health and safety of those affected by the work.
Current legislation relating to the Health and Safety of employees is derived from the following Acts:
- the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSW Act) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work (MHSW) Regulations 1999 requires employers to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of employees whilst at work and includes work related journeys.
- The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992 (updated in 1999) states that employers have a responsibility to carry out assessments of risk to the health and safety of employees whilst they are at work and to the people who may be affected by their work activities. Driving on company business constitutes a work activity.
Both Acts became law on the 6th April 2008. It is the employer's duty to assess all risks to lone workers and to take steps to avoid or control risk where necessary.
If you would like to discuss your lone/vulnerable worker requirements and the services you are interested in please contact the Lone/Vulnerable Worker Alarm Systems Manager today on 01752 512199.
