Ben Power and Ben Quirke have passed the BAFE Competency of Portable Fire Extinguisher Organisations and Technicians, which ensures a company and its fire extinguisher technicians meet the right levels of competency.
Scott Boyd, Managing Director, said proper accreditation to BAFE’S standards was vital and would give the company’s client base complete peace of mind.
“We take the issue of training and continuing professional development of not just our fire extinguisher team, but all our engineers, very seriously indeed,” said Scott.
“It is vital our clients have total confidence in our competency and expertise. This means we must ensure both the company and our staff always meet the stringent requirements laid down by BAFE.
Both technicians were required to complete a rigorous assessment to meet the necessary criteria and the accreditation recognises their ability to work to the safest and highest of industry standards.
BAFE is an independent registration body, which provides third party fire protection certification for UK companies. Its national independent register is a benchmark for quality fire safety service providers, like Securi-Guard Fire and Security.
The accreditation scheme is designed to increase the quality of companies and their technicians in the provision of fire extinguisher services.
Necessary requirements for technicians are ensuring the correct selection of extinguishers for a building and carrying out on-site checks to establish the equipment is fit for purpose, prior to installation.
Both technicians also need to be fully versed with maintenance and servicing to ensure equipment is in full working order and ready to tackle a fire.
Provision of fire extinguishers in workplace and domestic environments is one of the key services offered by Securi-Guard. The company gives clients access to a wide range of equipment suitable for tackling the different fire classifications.
The company also offers comprehensive maintenance and servicing delivered by its highly trained and knowledgeable team of technicians.
